Angstrom Sciences introduces new cost effective and smaller footpring “ONYX UHV” Cathode

Pittsburgh, PA, August 1, 2012 - Angstrom Sciences has released for immediate sale a series of circular UHV sputter magnetrons that address the needs of the thin film community for a lower cost, optimized form-factor device. Drawing on Angstrom’s broad experience and leading market position in circular magnetrons, this evolutionary step in product development places Angstrom at the forefront in of offering the broadest industry range of performance and price points.

This new product is designated the “Onyx UHV” and features all metal seals and ceramic insulators and is bakeable. The “Onyx UHV” is available in 2”, 3”, and 4” diameters and is compatible with all of the accessories, magnet sets, and features found in both the standard Onyx cathodes (Kel-F insulators and 3 Viton® seals exposed to vacuum) and the “Onyx-HT” (a high temperature variant of the standard Onyx cathode with all ceramic insulators for high temperature operation and 1 Viton® seal exposed to vacuum which also introduces “near”-UHV performance). Angstrom Science will also continue to offer the “Onyx Classic UHV” which features demountable magnets.
